Minor truly is flexible. In the music you study in minor keys, it is rewarding to look at each raised or unraised 6 and 7 degree and ponder why it is one way and not the other. It will lead you to a better understanding of the harmonic and melodic forces at work, and will enrich your intuitive feel for the music as well.
