Troppo spesso gli scrittori credono di poter evidenziare alcune parole mettendoli in tutte le lettere maiuscole. L'unico problema è che quando tutte le lettere maiuscole vengono utilizzati, la capacità di leggere le parole è ridotto drasticamente, perché tutte le lettere sono rettangoli. Un modo più efficace per sottolineare le parole con parsimonia è di usare grassetto, corsivo, sottolineato, e le combinazioni di questi stili.
